The position of Emergency Management Agency Director is an unclassified position. The director is responsible for coordinating, organizing, administering and operating emergency management in accordance with Sections 5502.21 to 5502.51 of the Ohio Revised Code. Rules adopted under those sections and local ordinances pertaining to the emergency management, the Robert T. Stafford Relief and Emergency Assistance Act, and all applicable rules and regulations adopted under said act, subject to the direction, control and at the pleasure of the Carroll County Commissioners.
The Director is also the lead person in the County for administering, NIMS, Homeland Security Grants, and the Emergency Operation Center during a time of unrest. The director will also act as the County representative at all state conferences and meetings with the State Office of Emergency Management.
Our office also oversees the Carroll County Local Emergency Planning Committee (LEPC) run under 3750 of the ORC. We also manage the floodplain permitting in the County.
