About Regional Planning
The Carroll County Regional Planning Commission is responsible for subdivision regulations, comprehensive planning, county house numbering, and review and approval of subdivision applications. We work to ensure orderly, responsible development that serves the best interests of Carroll County residents and communities.
Our office works closely with townships, municipalities, and property owners to facilitate appropriate development while protecting the county's rural character and natural resources.
Services & Responsibilities
Subdivision Review & Approval
Review and approve minor and major subdivision applications, plats, and re-plats to ensure compliance with county regulations.
Comprehensive Planning
Develop and maintain the county's comprehensive plan to guide future growth and development decisions.
House Numbering
Assign official house numbers for new construction and developments to ensure proper emergency response and mail delivery.
Variance Applications
Review and process variance requests for exceptions to subdivision regulations when justified by unique circumstances.
