Our Mission
Branch of County Government that manages wastewater services for the county.
We accomplish this through the development of residential and industrial programs that educate, promote, provide, implement, and improve recycling opportunities that will preserve landfill space now and into the future. We are committed to reducing landfill reliance and increasing recycling within our three-county region.
What We Do
Recycling Programs
Operate 24/7 recycling drop-off locations throughout the district for paper, cardboard, glass, plastic, and metal.
Education & Outreach
Provide educational resources and programs to promote proper recycling practices and waste reduction in our communities.
Waste Management Planning
Develop and implement comprehensive solid waste management plans for the three-county district.
Grant Programs
Offer grants and assistance to communities and organizations for recycling and waste reduction initiatives.
24/7 Recycling Drop-Off Locations
The CCH Solid Waste District operates convenient recycling drop-off locations that are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Accepted materials include paper, cardboard, glass bottles and jars, plastic bottles and containers, and metal cans.
What to Recycle:
- Paper and cardboard
- Glass bottles and jars
- Plastic bottles and containers (#1-#7)
- Metal cans (aluminum and steel)
What NOT to Recycle:
- Plastic bags and film
- Food waste or soiled materials
- Styrofoam
- Household hazardous waste
How The District Is Funded
Ohio law allows Solid Waste Districts to fund their recycling programs by collecting a fee on solid waste disposed in landfills and transfer stations. The District does not receive funding from the County General Fund, and District fees cannot be used to support County activities. All fees collected go directly toward recycling programs and services that benefit residents of Carroll, Columbiana, and Harrison Counties.
