The Carroll County Senior Citizens' Friendship Center is a multipurpose senior center and serves as the county focal point providing a variety of services to county residents age 60 and over. This web page contains a brief listing and description of the services we provide; for more detailed information, call us at: 330-627-7017.    
 

Our primary services include: Home-delivered meals, Site meals, Transit services around Carrollton for general errands, Transit services for Medical appointments, assistance paying for legal services, Information & Referral assistance, HEAP application assistance for winter heating, and a variety of social activities.

Congregate Meals
A hot nutritious meal is served each day at the Senior Citizens' Friendship Center and our two satellite sites in Malvern and Sherrodsville at 11:30 am.

Suggested donation is $2.00 per meal effective January 1, 2010.

Home-Delivered Meals
The same meal served at the Center is also available for individuals or couples through our home-delivered meals program. Individuals must be 60 years of age or older, homebound, and a Carroll County resident. Frozen meals are also available for the weekend for those who want them. 

Carroll County Transit
Carroll County Transit provides transportation in and around Carrollton and outside Carroll County. Routine stops include Discount Drug Mart, Dollar General Market, and Thornes. Transportation to the Senior Center is also available on a daily basis M-F. To take advantage of transit locally and out of town, please call them at 330-627-1900.

            
Medical Transit
The Carroll County Transit is now providing all of our transportation for medical appointments. You must, however still call the Friendship Center at 330-627-7017 to schedule your medical trips.  We MUST have at least 72 hours notice to arrange your transportation. More notice is always better.

Legal Assistance
Funds are provided to pay up to $250 per person per year for a wide variety of legal services from participating Carroll County attorneys. There is an hourly fee cap for these services. Please call the Friendship Center for information and a list of participating attorneys. 
 

Information & Referral
This service provides specific information as to the particular agency to call regarding certain needs you may have. The Center will assist in making appointments and will follow up to ensure your needs have been met. 330-627-7017 

HEAP
Assistance is available for completing HEAP applications for help with winter heating costs. Appointments can be scheduled during the HEAP season.

Social Activities
Free coffee and donuts are available each morning starting at 8 a.m. in Carrollton. We also have Bingo on Mondays after lunch, Line Dancing on Wednesday mornings, Bridge on Wednesday afternoons, Euchre on Thursday evenings, Tai Chi on Tuesday and Thursday at 11:00, and exercise classes on Monday and Fridays at 11:00. Trips out of town are also scheduled for shopping as well as entertainment. Books and videos are available from our lending library and Euchre, Skip Bo, and other games are available for use at anytime throughout the day. A computer is available for public use at the Friendship Center daily.
